Kwara Constructs Classrooms, Equips Secondary School Laboratories

The Kwara State Government has again reiterated its commitment to the provision of quality education through the construction of class rooms, instructional materials and science laboratories equipment to government-owned schools in the State.

The Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu stated this during the official handing-over of a block of three Classrooms converted to a one-storey building at the Government Day Secondary School Oke Aluko, Ilorin, which consists of 4 Classrooms and an examination hall with furniture, a generator, science laboratories equipment and instructional materials.

Similarly, a newly constructed block of 3 classrooms with furniture, four blocks of eight compartment toilets, a motorized borehole, a generator and instructional materials were donated to Abata Gambari Senior Secondary School, Ilorin by the State Government during the week.

She explained that the State government would continue to provide conducive ambience for learning to thrive, pointing out that learning could not take place in a rowdy and shabby environment.

She maintained that the State government was determined to give the best to students and would not do anything to jeopardize their interest.

Modibbo Kawu implored the management and staff of the schools to make judicious use of the materials to justify government’s intention of providing quality education for public school students in the State.

In his contribution, the Balogun Afin of Ilorin, Alhaji Mohammed Nuru Yusuf, appreciated the State government for the remarkable improvement in their commitment to revamping the educational system in the state and prayed for God’s guidance for the Governor.

Speaking on behalf of the schools, the Principals of Abata Gambari Senior Secondary School, Ilorin, Mallam Suleiman Toyin Abdulkareem, Government Day Secondary School Oke Aluko, Ilorin, Hajia Nimota Adenike Akorede and Saidu Atanda Elekuro, Junior Secondary School, in their separate remarks applauded Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his highly commendable effort in the education sector since his assumption of office.

They also appreciated the Governor for making life meaningful for teachers and students of the state, adding that the Governor’s good work deserves commendation.
