Kwara Govt Committed to Development of Female Students

The Kwara State Commissioner for Youths Development, Amb. Shehu Usman Ndanusa (Middle) with the representatives of the National Female Students Association of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter, during their courtesy visit to the Commissioner’s office today in Ilorin.

The Kwara State Government has restated its commitment to the development of female students, maintaining youths inclusion in decision-making processes and implementing youth-centred programmes to build capacity and leadership skills.

The Commissioner for Youths Development, Amb. Shehu Usman Ndanusa stated this today during a courtesy visit of the National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN), to his office.

Amb. Ndanusa noted that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration is devoted to women’s empowerment and youths inclusion, which are essential tools for sustainable development and societal progress. He opined that the level of female inclusion in the governance of the Kwara State has been the benchmark for other states in the country.

The Commissioner stressed that the State government has been putting a lot in place to improve the lifestyles of female students in the State, such as encouraging young girls to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through workshops, mentoring, and competitions, upgrading schools, providing adequate learning materials, and improving sanitary facilities to create a conducive environment for female students, among others.

He advised the female students representatives to continue to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits, acquire skills, set goals, celebrate small wins and be resilient.

The Chairperson of NFSAN, Comr. Buraimoh Abiola Temitope, commended the state Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), for his inclusive approach to youths development, stating that his leadership has created positive impacts on the lives of young people in the State.

She appreciated the Governor for his unwavering commitment to the inclusion and empowerment of female students in Kwara State, stressing that his visionary leadership and support have fostered a more equitable and conducive environment for young women to thrive academically and socially.She thanked the Commissioner for his support and encouragement of young female students in the State.
