The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has felicitated the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, State Council of Chiefs, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on his 84th birthday, saying that he has epitomized empathy and peace for Ilorin Emirate.

The union explained that the revered monarch has performed remarkably well in fostering and promoting unity and peaceful coexistence among his subjects and non-natives.

The NUJ said this in a congratulatory message issued in Ilorin today and signed by its state Chairman, Abdullateef ‘Lanre and the Assistant Secretary, Olayinka Alaya.

The statement said while many rich cultural heritage and materials of African communities were on the brink of extinction, the Emir of Ilorin took it upon himself to safeguard and preserve the culture and tradition of the Emirate through various cultural renaissance-induced initiatives.

It noted that the traditional ruler has contributed significantly to the upliftment of Ilorin town, using his wise counsel and guidance as a vehicle, and as well as his insatiable quest for his subjects to succeed in their endeavours.

The NUJ noted with delight that Ilorin has grown in leaps and bounds during the reign of the monarch and prayed to the Almighty Allah to elongate his earthly existence in good health.

“The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) heartily rejoices with the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on the occasion of your 84th birthday.
