
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has congratulates the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on his 29th turbaning anniversary as the Emir of Ilorin.
The party in a statement signed by its State Chairman, Rt. Honourable Babatunde Mohammed, described the Emir as a bastion of Emirate culture and tradition, noting that within the last 29 years of his reign, the Emir has played significant roles in the promotion of harmonious relationshipss among Kwarans of different ethnic and religious backgrounds.
“On behalf of members and leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara state, I warmly congratulate His Royal Highness, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the 11th Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Council on his 29th turbaning anniversary.
“The Emir as our bastion of culture and tradition, has played significant roles in the promotion of peace and harmony among people of Ilorin as well as inhabitants of other communities in Kwara. No doubt, the last twenty-nine years under Mai Martaba’s reign have witnessed enormous blessings to all Emirates and a new sense of direction that is propelling our state to greater heights.
“The Emir has been a strong pillar of support to the state and we in the PDP wholeheartedly identify with such an amazing father figure on his 29th anniversary on the highly revered Sheikh Alimi’s royal throne.
“As we urge Ilorin people and Kwarans to continue to rally support for the Emirate traditional council, our prayer is that the Almighty Allah will continue to give the Emir good health and wisdom to pilot the traditional affairs of the Ilorin Emirate and offer valuable contributions to the development of our dear state,” the statement concluded.
