The Kwara State Police Command has recorded another operational success following the swift arrest of suspects involved in a criminal conspiracy and attempted armed robbery in Ilorin.
Police spokesperson in the state, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday saying:
“On 10th November 2025, one Abdulazeez Ishaq of Gerewu, Ilorin, reported that Adekoya Opeyemi a.k.a. Justice confessed he was contracted by one Abdulwahab Ahmad to kill him and steal his Honda Accord (2013 model).
“Acting on Abdulwahab’s instruction, Adekoya was directed to tie the victim, lock him in the boot of his car, and drive to the Unity area where Abdulwahab planned to take possession and proceed to Ibadan with the victim in the vehicle.”
Ejire-Adeyemi added that, “In a tactically coordinated operation, operatives of the command advised the complainant to play along while surveillance was mounted.
“The suspect was swiftly arrested at the agreed location as he attempted to take possession of the car, thereby foiling the planned robbery and murder.”
The police spokesperson further stressed that, “The Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo psc, mnips, commended the operatives for their professionalism and urged members of the public to remain vigilant, share credible information promptly, and continue to support the Police in the Command.
“He also lauded the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, for his visionary leadership and sustained operational drive which continue to inspire tactical efficiency and notable successes across Police Commands nationwide.”
