Kwara restates commitment to facilitate development through innovation

The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed that innovation is the bedrock of sustainable development to handle the present global economic realities and enjoined Enterpreneurs to showcase the tremendous potentials of the entrepreneurial ecosystem so as to collaborate with one another as well as share the experiences with the world.

The State Commissioner for Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, stated this at the Global Entrepreneurship Week with the theme: “Entrepreneurs Thrive Here”, which was organised by Lifefount Foundation & Partners, held at the Micheal Imodu National Institute of Labour Studies, Ilorin, the State capital.

Hon. Damilola, who was represented by the Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply, Mr. Tunde Thompson Amos, appreciated the commitment of the organisation towards hosting of this year celebration when the Nation is facing the challenges of economic crisis.

The Commissioner acknowledged that Kwara State had witnessed surge of creativity and ingenuity that led to the establishment of numerous successful Enterprises, encouraging Entrepreneurs to thrive regardless of their background circumstances.

She further emphasized that Entrepreneurs are the backbone of economic progress, derivers of innovation and architects of brighter future, stressing that their relentless determination, creative thinking and unwavering commitment to turning dreams into reality are cornerstone of our society evaluations.

Hon. Damilola highlighted the intention of the present administration on ease of doing business, creating job opportunities for teeming youths and women through numerous policy programmes; innovative projects geared towards economic growth and development; working assiduously to streamline regulatory processes to reduce bureaucratic hurdles; and providing access to resources and capital through Kwara State Social Investments Programme (KWASSIP).

Also speaking, His Royal Highness, Olukotun of Ikotun Land, Oba AbudulRazaq Adebayo, congratulated the organisers of the event and commended them for training 100 people at this critical time when the Nation is facing economic crisis, advising them to be focused on their dreams to achieve success.

Earlier, the Founder of Lifefount Foundation and Partners, Dr. (Mrs.) Yemisi Adeyeye, thanked the Commissioner for the support at the year 2023 celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week and appreciated the State Government for providing an enabling environment for entrepreneurship to thrive in the State.

Dr. Adeyeye said that the Foundation aims to educate, support, and encourage women and youths in generating innovative ideas and publish their dreams through the ecosystem to potential customers with much ado.

She, however, disclosed that 100 people had undergone various digital training like Grafix Design, Website Networking and Online Marketing through collaboration with distinguished organisations.

Dr. Adeyeye therefore solicited for continuous support and collaboration with the State government, to further promote entrepreneurship in Kwara State.

Similarly, the Director General, Micheal Imodu National Institution of Labour Studies, Comrade lsa Aremu, congratulated the organisers and advised the graduates to be optimistic in their endeavours and invest in Kwara State and Nigerian as a whole.

Present at the occasion were the Deputy Director, Commerce, Alhaji Sami Ibrahim; the former President, Kwara State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), Alhaji Abudulfatai Ayodeji Olamilekan; the Founder, Tamirah Entrepreneurship Community, Mrs. Rukayat Yahaya; Mr. Sola Rahman Brand, among others.
