KWSG reiterates commitment to youth inclusion in governance

… As Commissioner welcomes Minister of Youths Development

The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment and partnership with the Federal Ministry of Youths Development, for effective youth participation and inclusion in governance, while also creating an enabling environment for them to thrive.

The Kwara State Commissioner for Youths Development, Hon. Nafisat Musa Buge, stated this while receiving the Minister for Youths Development, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim at the Ministry’s conference room today.

Hon. Buge who welcomed the Minister to the State of Harmony, thanked President Bola Tinubu for selecting a youth as the Minister of Youths in the country.

She promised the Minister of the State Government’s cooperation, noting that the Governor of Kwara State has set the pace for youths participation and inclusion in governance in Nigeria.

Speaking at the reception, The Minister appreciated the State government for the lovely welcome given to her, while also appreciating President Bola Tinubu for giving her the opportunity to steer the youths of Nigeria in the right direction.

She further commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his precedence in women and youths inclusion in governance, advising other states in the country to emulate Kwara.

The Minister emphasized the Governor’s passion for the recognition of the potentials of youths and women, placing them in key positions where they have been able to successfully perform the tasks reposed in them.

Also speaking, the APC Zonal Youths Leader North Central, Hon. Zubair Aliyu, extended his greetings to the governor for creating an enabling environment for youths to thrive.

He advised youths in the nation to support both the Minister and Commissioner to change the narrative of youths in power positively.

Likewise, the Chairman, National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kwara State Chapter, Comrade Nasiru Alibaba expressed his excitement in having the Minister of Youths from Kwara State.

Highlight of the meeting was the presentation of gifts to the Minister by the National Youths Council of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter and the National Youths Service Corps.

Present at the meeting were the Commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun; Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Sheu Usman Ndanusa; NYSC Kwara State Coordinator, Mr. Olaoluwa Joshua Onifade; Commissioner II Kwara State Civil Service Commission, Mrs Jemilat Adamu Bake; State APC Women Leader, Mrs Falilat Ronke Mohammed; APC Zonal Youth Leader, North Central Hon. Zubair Aliyu; Former Commissioner for Tertiary Education; Dr. Aminat Ahmed, Senior Special Assistant to the National Youths Leader, Hon. Yukub Tunde and the NYSC Ilorin West Local Government Inspector, Mrs Oloriegbe Tawa.
