Obi Cubana Backs Tinubu Through Youth-Focused City Boy Movement

Date:

Prominent businessman Obi Cubana has declared his support for President Bola Tinubu through the newly launched City Boy Movement, a youth-focused initiative aimed at educating and empowering communities for national development.

Speaking during a meeting with Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, Cubana emphasized that the movement is not a political party but a platform primarily supporting Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“The unique thing about this movement is that it’s made up of young people, mostly businessmen, not politicians. Our goal is the betterment of our neighbors. Our people lack knowledge, and our work is mostly to educate, to give orientation, and to reorient them—to know whether they are well-acquainted with our collective path forward,” he said.

Cubana stressed the importance of unity and constructive engagement with the Federal Government, adding, “Today, we believe in the government of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We, as young professionals and successful businessmen, have come out to tell our people that we are solidly behind Mr. President and his re-election bid. Any Igbo has to be taken to the center. We cannot always be doing divisive politics.”

He highlighted the need for balanced regional development, noting, “There must be balance, and there must be recognition of every region, because there’s a lot to be done here. We have to be connected to the gas, to the rail.”

Cubana further explained that the movement seeks to empower Igbo communities by fostering awareness and engagement with government initiatives. “If we are all in opposition to this government, eventually we won’t be remembered. We stand on Bola Tinubu’s mandate. The City Boy Movement is about the progress of Igbo land. Our people lack knowledge, and it is my responsibility to educate them. We stand solidly behind Tinubu,” he said.
