Ogun Command Marks Police Day with Health Outreach, Sanitation Drive

Date:

The Ogun State Police Command has launched activities to mark the 2026 National Police Week, featuring a free medical outreach and a statewide sanitation exercise. The initiative aims to promote public health awareness and community cleanliness across the state.

State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, inaugurated the free medical program at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Abeokuta, urging residents to regularly monitor their health status.

The medical screening was conducted by the Department of Force Medical Services, Ogun State Command, under the supervision of the Medical Director, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr. Ihegboro Minachiso.

Members of the public, including journalists, received health checks covering blood sugar levels, blood pressure, body mass index, height, and weight measurements. Free medications, consultations, and referrals were provided as needed.

The initiative underscores the Ogun Police Command’s commitment to community engagement, public health, and sanitation, as part of its broader efforts to foster safety, well-being, and awareness among residents during National Police Week.
