HRM Oba Ismail Bolaji Yahaya Muhammed Atoloye Alebiosu, Olupo of Ajase-Ipo and Chairman of the Igbomina/Ekiti Traditional Rulers Forum, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Sheikh (Dr) Muhammad Bashir Imam Salih, OON, the Grand Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate.
Describing the passing as a “colossal loss,” Oba Alebiosu said the death of the revered cleric is not only a blow to the Ilorin Emirate but also to the entire Muslim Ummah, noting that a spiritual leader of exceptional stature has departed.
The monarch extended his condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, HRH Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, who is also Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, as well as to the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON.
Oba Alebiosu also commiserated with the immediate family of the late Chief Imam, the Kwara State Council of Ulamah, the Ilorin Emirate Council of Ulamah, and the broader Muslim community.
He described Sheikh Muhammad Bashir as a “spiritual leader par excellence” whose guidance and wisdom had impacted generations of faithful.
The Olupo prayed that Almighty Allah forgives the shortcomings of the late Chief Imam and grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
He concluded by reiterating the significance of the loss, emphasizing the enduring legacy of scholarship, leadership, and service that the late Grand Chief Imam leaves behind.
