Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has donated N100million to traders in the burnt Akere Motor Parts and Allied Dealers Association (AMPADA) in Ajegunle.

He also laid the foundation for a new one-story market building.

Sanwo-Olu, who visited the burnt site, said the efforts were to help alleviate the plight of the traders who lost goods and cash in the fire.

Goods worth millions of naira were last week burnt down by unidentified arsonists who invaded the market in the Olodi-Apapa area of Lagos State.

The incident also claimed the life of one Baba Hakeem, the security guard for the taxi park beside the market, was said to have been perpetrated by masked men.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sanwo-Olu who is seeking second term as a governor in the Saturday election will be contending with frontline candidates from PDP and Labour Party.

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and Abdul-Azeez Adediran, the governorship candidates of LP and PDP have also made visit to the burnt market.
