Small Doctor: I almost lost my mind in that beautiful house

Date:

Nigerian street-pop star Small Doctor has revealed that his time living in a lavish home nearly cost him his mental stability, despite the house’s appealing aesthetics.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) page, the 29-year-old singer shared a deeply personal reflection, stating, “The house looked perfect, and anyone would want it. But I almost lost my mind living there.”

The artist, born Temitope Adekunle, said the experience drastically altered his state of well-being. “My life went from 100 to zero while I was in that house,” he wrote, leaving fans both surprised and concerned.

Small Doctor began his music journey in 2012, earning early recognition with street anthems like “Gbagaun” and “Mosquito Killer.” His big break came in 2015 with the release of his debut album Street Ambassador, solidifying his position in Nigeria’s vibrant street-hop scene.

He went on to release follow-up projects including Omo Iya Teacher and Street King, blending elements of Fuji and Afro-pop, a style that would become his signature sound.

In 2018, Small Doctor’s widely popular hit “Penalty” earned him Best Street Hop Artiste at The Headies, further cementing his status as a leader in street-inspired music.

His recent disclosure adds a new, more personal layer to his public persona, offering fans a glimpse into the emotional challenges that can exist behind material success.
