Mr. Speaker equally announced Monday 21st for the screening of Mrs Jamila Adamu Bake as Member of the Kwara State Civil Service Commission.

PETITION
Hon. Saba Yisa Gideon (Edu) relied on Order VII Rule 38 of the House Rules to move a motion to present a petition by All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Kwara State Chapter against one Hon. Ishiaku Aliyu Adam who is alleged to have been parading himself as the Chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Kwara State Chapter despite having lost Election into the position to Hon. Umar Mahmud Aboki.
The petition was referred to the House committee on Agriculture to investigate and to report its findings to the House in one week time.

ORDER OF THE DAY

Report

The Report of the House Committee on Health and Environment on a Law to amend the Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency Law, Cap. K16, To Increase the Penalties for Violation of Certain Offences was presented and laid on the table of the Honourable House by the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Owolabi O. Rasaq(Share/Oke-Ode) and it was considered at committee of Whole.
After the report was considered at the committee of Whole, the Bill passed through Third Reading and final passage.

Motion on Notice

A motion on the Need to Checkmate the Unsafe Handling and Indiscriminate Display of Drugs, Medicines and Other Health Related Products in Kwara State: KWHAM 7, was moved by Hon. Bello Yunusa Oniboki (Afon), seconded by Hon. Owolabi O. Rasaq (Share/Oke-Ode).

In leading the debate, Hon. Oniboki was concerned, that medicine become less potent, or may go bad before the expiration date because in whatever form they come, the capsules, syrups, ointments, etc have their respective potent temperature and therefore become less potent if unnecessarily exposed to the sun as often done in market within and all over the state.
He was also worried, that ingestion or administration of fake and substandard medicines into the human body can lead to poison, diseases, treatment failure and early death.

The Hon.House House resolved as follows:

i- Urged the Governor to direct the Ministries of Health and Environment to tackle the hawking and open sales of drugs medicines and other health related products in markets, by invoking all available legal instruments.
ii- Urged the Governor to direct the Ministry of Communication to embark on massive enlightenment Campaigns on the dangers inherent in exposing drugs, medicines and other health related products to the sun and its adverse effects on to human health and
iii- Urged the Governor to reinvigorate the Drug Revolving Scheme of the State Government to enable Kwarans have access to genuine and we’ll preserved drugs in all state Government health facilities when required.
