Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State was on Friday urged to prioritise security of lives and property as well as youth rehabilitation in order to enhance good governance, growth and development in the state.
ROYAL NEWS reports that a special prayer was organised for the governor by a social political group under the aegis of Kwara Youth Renewal, (KYR), and hosted Muslim faithful and patriotic Kwarans to Iftar.

Speaking at the event, an Ilorin based Islamic scholar, Shiek Mubarak Yahaya, urged political leaders to always embrace transparency, accountability and trustworthiness to the8r followers especially with the present level of political awareness in the state.
The cleric cautioned youths not to be too desperate in searching for money because such desperation might eventually lure them to engage in dubious and devilish activities that could tarnish their person and family name which signifies integrity before they were born.
He however, challenged the present government on security of lives and properties stressing that, “APC government should take issue of security as prosperity considering the rate our young people are taken (Marijuana) and other hard drugs that can easily intoxicate someone to be involved in criminality”
In his remarks, the Coordinator of the group, Mr. Rotimi Iliasu Sulaiman, said Kwara Youth Renewal platform’s executive deliberately seized the opportunity of Ramadan to pray for Allah’s guidance for Gov. AbdulRahman, peaceful coexistence in our state and more importantly reorientation of our youth on good way of living to become a good ambassador of the state and country.
“We are also planning on the ways to get our youth engaged in agricultural sector and so as to make them independent and reduce loads on the shoulder of the government. The continuous increase in unemployment rate is speedily becoming a time bomb in our state and country”
“We should thank God for president Muhammad Buhari who has through his leadership skills made agriculture to be worthy and very attractive. For Kwara state, we must key into this opportunity for us to have a strong, organized economic system to produce what is needed, and as youths, our best shot is to start through participating in government so that we can have laws that will favor agriculture to drive our plan”
“Professionalizing the agricultural sector is an essential condition for modernizing Kwara because our oil and gas is vast availability of fertile land. Needless to say, our key proposal in Kwara in this regard should be the creation of a strong market for agricultural produce to replace the present market where the farmers do all the work, while the middlemen make all the money. Provision of a single digit loan for farmers is a necessary and irrevocable matter. It is also necessary to establish Silo systems, a hub at close proximities to farms. This will encourage our farmers to do more and have good value from their farms.”
The prayer which had in attendance representatives of youth from sixteen local governments area of the state, the chairman and Secretary of the forum Mr. Ganiyu Onagun and Mr. Olayinka Kuranga respectively, held at Adabata area of ilorin west local government.
In his remark, the Vice -Chancellor of the University, Prof. AbdulRasheed Na’Allah said that the event was historic and important because the company is owned by the two former students of the institution.
