A heated exchange broke out on Arise Television’s The Morning Show on Tuesday when the Minister of Works, David Umahi, appeared for an interview that quickly turned confrontational.
The altercation began after one of the programme’s anchors, Rufai Oseni, questioned Umahi about the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project and alleged that the minister had reported him to President Bola Tinubu over his previous comments on the project.
Visibly irritated, Umahi denied the accusation, saying, “You are too small for me to report to the President. Stop saying I reported you to the President—you’re too small.”
The confrontation escalated when Umahi described himself as “a professor in the field of engineering,” prompting Oseni to ask when he obtained the title. Umahi responded, “Keep quiet and stop saying what you don’t know. I’m a professor in this field. You don’t understand anything.”
As the exchange grew tense, Oseni replied, “Minister, it’s alright, keep dignifying yourself, and let the world know who you truly are.”
The on-air clash has since sparked debate on social media, with viewers divided over the conduct of both men during the live interview.
