Yesufu Calls Out Government, Signals Possible Mass Protest

Date:

AISHA YESUFU

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, activist and politician Aisha Yesufu described Nigeria as a “glitch” under the current leadership, arguing that both the economy and security situation have collapsed.

Yesufu, who chairs the online registration sub-committee of the African Democratic Congress, accused political leaders of failing to address rising insecurity and economic hardship, citing ongoing kidnappings, killings and the growing boldness of armed groups.

She stated that citizens are being pushed to the brink by poor governance, insisting that insecurity persists while groups responsible for violence operate openly without effective state response.

Responding to criticisms of the party’s online registration portal, Yesufu said the platform had not experienced any outage and challenged critics to provide evidence of technical failure, adding that improvements were ongoing amid growing interest from Nigerians.

She also expressed confidence that the opposition party could challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2027 elections, arguing that despite the APC’s control of state governments, broader public support lies with the opposition.
