No plans to dump PDP, Samuel Ortom speaks

The Chairman of opposition people’s Democratic Party in Benue State, Hon John Ngbede, on Tuesday held caucus meetings at the party’s secretariat in Makurdi.

In his opening remarks, Hon Ngbede intimated the gathering that he heard from grapevine of agitations of some key members to abandoned the party.

He implored the forum that the meeting was to address vital issues bordering the party with a view to correcting the wrongs and forge ahead as congresses approach.

Contributing to the development, a former Governor and two-term Senator, Gabriel Suswam, emphasised on the need for unity and called on stakeholders to ignore the blame on members for the failure of the party in the last General election.

He charged party faithful to remained focused and unite together for the task ahead suing for peace and unity.

In his comment, the immediate past Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, asked party faithfuls to be steadfast stressing that the party’s failure in the last elections was temporary adding that, “when the time comes, we shall reach the destination point in 2027 and the party will work round the clock and reclaimed its power .

He debunked the claims describing those making unfounded rumours that they were economical with the truth, saying he shall remain in the party.

In his remarks, Senator Abba Moro disclosed that people are working behind because of the disaffection between the immediate past Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom and Senator Gabriel Suswam and emphasising that the accusation aimed to spit the duo are unfounded claims and baseless.

The Minority Leader enjoined stakeholders to put the past behind them and work assiduously towards wrestle Governorship race from All Progressives Congress APC in 2027.

He posited that broom revolution were not prepared giving the indices that governance is at stand-still as impacted on the current dispensation is below expectations.
