Trump Reacts to Maiduguri Bombings, Condemns Attack on Civilians

Date:

United States President Donald Trump has condemned the deadly bomb blasts in Maiduguri, describing the attacks as “senseless violence” against innocent civilians.

In a reaction shared through his media channel on Tuesday, Trump expressed sympathy for the victims of the coordinated explosions, which reportedly killed 23 people and injured more than 100 others across multiple locations in the city.

“My thoughts are with the people affected by the terrible attacks in Maiduguri. This kind of violence against innocent people must never be tolerated,” he said.

The US president also called for stronger global cooperation in the fight against terrorism, stressing the need for nations to work together to prevent further attacks and dismantle extremist networks.

The bombings, which occurred at the Maiduguri Monday Market, near the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, and at the Post Office Flyover, have heightened security concerns in northeastern Nigeria.

Trump further urged authorities to take decisive steps to ensure the safety of citizens, noting that terrorism remains a global threat requiring sustained attention and action.

Security agencies in Nigeria have since intensified surveillance and operations across Borno State, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
