Anambra Governor Soludo Inaugurated for Second Term

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has been officially sworn in for a second term in office. The ceremony took place at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, with numerous dignitaries and guests from both within and outside the state in attendance.

Soludo arrived at the venue at 11:18 a.m., accompanied by top figures including Vice President Kashim Shettima and former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan. The event also featured elder statesmen such as former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, and the traditional ruler, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

At exactly 11:50 a.m., Soludo took the oath of allegiance followed by the oath of office, which lasted about five minutes. His wife, Dr. Nonye Soludo, stood beside him as he took the oaths and later signed them in the presence of the Chief Judge of the state at 11:55 a.m., receiving applause from attendees.

The swearing-in marks the official start of Soludo’s second term, signaling continuity in his administration and governance agenda in Anambra State. The ceremony emphasized both formal protocol and the presence of high-profile national and traditional figures.

Soludo’s second term will run until 2030, during which his administration is expected to continue its development initiatives and policy programs across the state. The event reinforces his mandate and political legitimacy among the people of Anambra.
