Following the recent gas explosion, the Kaduna State Urban Development Authority, (KASUPDA), has demolished more than 10 shops into rubble in Sabon Tasha, in chikun local government area of Kaduna South in Kaduna State.
Some of the affected shops, located along Kachia road near Sabon Tasha market, includes chemist, rappers, cloths among other shops belonging to business men and woman.
A victim who pleaded anonymity told ROYAL NEWS that no reason was given for the demolition of their shops which occurred on Tuesday afternoon.
The victim however confirmed that three days notice was given to them to quit in August 2nd 2019, saying, nothing was held again until Tuesday, when the Kaduna  state government agency arrived the area with bulldozer and police security and demolished their shops, after 30 minute granted them to evacuate their goods.
Why some victims alleged that government bought the land of about 400 by 200 square, located behind the shops, from the owner,  others believed that the woman owner of the land traveled, and was yet to return before the demolition occurred.
According to them, articles belonging to the owner of the plot were evacuated and taking to the police station in Sabon Tasha on her behalf by the agency and police.
When our reporter visited KASUPDA office in Sabon Tasha, to clarify the report, they have closed.
However, when contacted, the Public Relations Officer, PRO, Nuhu Garba of agency pleaded for more time on the phone, to confirmed the report and reasons for the demolition on Thursday.
Effort to clarify from police failed as PPRO, kaduna police command, DSP Yakubu Sabo, could not responds.
