A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Mallam Saliu Mustapha, at weekend donated Hyundai Bus to the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Kwara State Council.

Saliu Mustapha, a leading member of The Buhari Organisation, (TBO) is aspiring to become the National Chairman of the ruling APC in the next national convention.

This, he said was part of his support for the union to function maximally as major stakeholders as the voice for the voiceless in the society, ROYAL NEWS reports, noting that the next national chairman of the party would not be about titles or what the candidate has been before the contest.

He stated this at the regular News Keg, an interactive platform organised by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Kwara NUJ stating that, “The media too can help the party reach a better decision on the right candidate to emerge by deemphasizing on what any candidate has been before.”

According to him, “It shouldn’t be contest of titles. It is an offer to serve. It shouldn’t be about what you have been before but what you are bringing to the table as an individual,” he added.

Until the arrival of the APC, Mustapha was the Deputy National Secretary of the CPC, and leading tendency in the ‘O’toge’ in Kwara State

“I believe that I have paid my dues, politically speaking. There are no new tricks to be learned other than being what I am now,” he said.

Speaking on the level of insecurity bedeveling the country, the politician further admitted that there are indeed challenges facing the Buhari adminstration stressing that, “What it requires more is setting aside our differences to confront the challenges.

“I admit there is room for improvement. But I believe that Mr President is doing his best given the circumstances he found himself.”
