Arewa Youth Movement, AYM has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the nomination of a member of the House of Representatives, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as minister.
Tunji-Ojo, who represents the Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency of Ondo State, is among the first batch of 28 ministerial nominees whose names were read out by Senate President Godswill Akpabio last week and consequently screened.
The group, in a statement issued by its leader, Kabiru Yusuf, while commending President Tinubu for the nomination, described Tunji-Ojo as a man with capacity and competence to make impact while carrying out his national assignment.
It recalled how Ojo, using his legislative influence, facilitated the rehabilitation of some roads and other projects in his Federal Constituency.
“We commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the nomination of a member of the House of Representatives Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as minister. This shows his commitment to include capable, competent youths in governance. We have an endless list of the achievements of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who was the Chairman House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in the 9th National Assembly.
“Even before becoming a lawmaker, Tunji Ojo has shown commitment in doing the very best for the people.
“In collaboration with the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Ojo pioneered the first Nigerian Content Workshop (NCW) in 2016, a forum for all stakeholders in the Oil and Gas Industry to discuss freely on the Policy Framework to improve indigenous participation and making use of the Nigerian Content Policy to domicile the best global productivity and performances in Nigeria.
“One of the goals of the workshop was to address the thematic issues, challenges, concerns, and ways forward and this was achieved with thirteen papers delivered and deliberated upon by speakers. We are optimistic that he will bring his experience to bear in the discharge of his national assignment,” the group stressed.
