Breaking… Buhari appoints new NNPC GMD, 7 others

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday appointed Mele Kyari as the new group managing director of the country’s oil firm, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

In a press statement released by NNPC spokesperson, Ndu Ughamadu, said President Buhari also appointed seven new Chief Operating Officers for the corporation.

Until his new appointment, Kyari, a geologist, was Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Division of NNPC and also doubled, since May 2018, as Nigeria’s National Representative to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC.
