Al-Nassr captain and forward Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly left Saudi Arabia for Madrid, Spain, following rising tensions in the Middle East after US-Israeli strikes in Iran.
According to Daily Mail, the 41-year-old football star departed Riyadh late at night aboard his £61 million ($81 million) Bombardier Global Express 6500 private jet.
His departure comes after reports of regional attacks, including a drone strike on the United States Embassy in Riyadh and Iranian state media claims that a command and staff building in Bahrain was destroyed.
Flightradar24 confirmed that the aircraft left Riyadh at about 8:00 p.m. and arrived in Madrid close to 1:00 a.m., travelling via Egypt and the Mediterranean.
Riyadh, where Ronaldo lives with his partner Georgina Rodríguez and their five children, has been affected by security concerns linked to the broader conflict.
The move follows US-Israeli military strikes in Iran on February 28, 2026, which reports say resulted in casualties among Iranian officials. Iranian state media later announced that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been killed and declared a 40-day mourning period alongside a seven-day national holiday.
The Saudi Ministry of Defence confirmed that a limited fire broke out at the US Embassy in Riyadh after it was struck by two drones, adding that the attack caused minor material damage.
Authorities have not indicated any direct threat to Ronaldo, but heightened regional insecurity appears to have influenced the football star’s travel decision.
