Exclusive ! Facts emerge on KWASU VC crises as Students put Gov. Ahmed to shame

Date:

Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed

The end is yet to be heard in the ongoing crises rocking the decision of the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, to appoint an acting Vice Chancellor for the Kwara state University, Malete.

At a press conference held on Wednesday in Ilorin by representatives of students union, Governor Ahmed was tagged  “Enemy of Nigerian Students”.
It would be recalled that Governor Ahmed had named a Contract Staff of the Kwara State University, Prof. Kenneth Adeyemi, to replace the pioneer VC, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah who has been directed to proceed on a terminal leave.
Ahmed was alleged to have neglected the University for years without any subventions stressing that the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, has done well in his capacity to build an enviable learning environment, a world class University and indeed an uninterrupted calendar.
ROYAL NEWS reports that the text of address was signed by Comrade Olosasa Saheed (Chairman, NANS Kwara), Comrade Abdulganiyu Dayo Dikko, (President, KWASU Students Union), Comrade Kazeem Hanafi (President Elect, KWASU Students Union), Senator Babajide Mikail,  (Senate President, Students Representative Assembly), Senator Moshood Solanke, (Immediate past Senate President, SRA).
According to them, “Staff of Kwara State University are paid as and when due. This we consider a strong achievements by the Vice Chancellor. It should also be noted that the Governor has never for once attended any of the convocation ceremony in the University. We call on Students, stakeholder, patriotic Kwarans, and well meaning Nigerians to stand against this impunity, injustice lawlessness and disregard for due process.
“It was earlier rumored that our hardworking VC, Prof. Na’Allah insisted not to sign subvention of the monies he did not collect nor take part in any acts of documents falsification. As a man of integrity who has sworn not to compromised against all odds and political intimidation, the government has decided to unseat him even when his tenure is expected to last until 27th of July, 2019.”
ROYAL NEWS gathered that with the directive of the state government, governing meeting has been scheduled to hold tomorrow Friday 10, May 2019 where the current leadership of the varsity would be dissolved in order to pave way for the resumption on the newly appointed Acting Vice Chancellor.
However, the Chairman of Governorning Council of KWASU , Professor Nuhu Saka, has denied knowledge of the scheduled meeting as only government representatives are billed to attend and take frivolous decision.
