Garnacho Explains Why He Joined Chelsea

Date:

Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho has revealed the key reasons behind his decision to join Chelsea, citing the club’s style of play and the opportunity for personal development under manager Enzo Maresca.

In a post shared by football journalist Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, Garnacho explained that discussions with Maresca played a major role in convincing him to make the move.

“When I spoke with the club and Maresca, it was important to understand the style of play we have,” Garnacho said. “He explained a lot to me during a video call. It’s a big chance to improve as a player in a team like Chelsea.”

Garnacho’s comments come as the Blues continue their aggressive squad rebuild ahead of a demanding season in both domestic and European competitions.

Earlier reports by PUNCH Online confirmed that Chelsea signed the 21-year-old from Manchester United for a reported ÂŁ40 million ($54 million) fee on a seven-year contract with the Premier League giants.

The young winger has already made an impression at Stamford Bridge, scoring his first goal for the club during Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to newly promoted Sunderland on Saturday.
