Gov. Muhammadu Bindow of Adamawa said his administration has executed 126 roads and five bridges at the cost of N16 billion.

Bindow made this known on Sunday while addressing a cross section of groups who paid him Sallah homage at the Government House, Yola.

He said that the roads, totalling 216 kilometres, would have cost N112 billion if the contracts were awarded based on the cost of his predecessor.

While assuring the people of his administration’s commitment to prudent management of scarce resources, Bindow said that he would embark on six new road projects in Yola town.

“We have also constructed 78 schools, while presently there is N1.9 billion on ground for renovation and construction of 123 primary and secondary schools in line with our declaration of state of emergency on education,” he said.

The governor added that the administration was upgrading three general hospitals with one each in the three senatorial districts of the state.

Leaders of the various groups who spoke, including those of Igbo and Yoruba communities, lauded the governor for his commitment to peace and peoples oriented projects.

They assured the governor of their support at all times.
