Ilorin Emirate begins fund raising to provide palliatives for less privileged

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari,  has inaugurated the Ilorin Emirate Palliatives Committee to find succour to alleviate the sufferings of the less privileged during the COVID-19 pandemic period.

The Emir who kick-started the exercise with a donation of one million naira on Thursday named the Danmasanin Ilorin, Engr. Suleiman Alapansanpa as the Chairman and the National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, (IEDPU) Alhaji Uthman Baba Otta as the alternate chairman.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari in his inaugural message charged them to be dedicated and look forward on how to share the items collected to the most poor and vulnerable people living in the Emirate without considering where they come from or religious.

A statement issued on disclosed that after the Emir donated the sum of one million naira,the five high chiefs; Balogun Gambari, Fulani, Ajikobi, Alanamu and Magaji Aare donated the sum of N500,000 while Magaji Ngari, Galadima Ngari and Baba Isale of Ilorin donated the sum of N150,000.

Also the Chief Imam of Ilorin and other ulamas donated N100,000 totaling N1,750,000 as the initial funds to commence the humanitarian exercise.
