INEC to reconvene for Edo election results collation at 5pm

Date:

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the collation of results for the Edo State Governorship Election held on Saturday.

The commission has collated results of 16 local government areas, remaining two LGAs. They are Oredo and Ikpoba Okha LGAs, and are the two largest councils with the voting population.

Suspending the LGA collations, the INEC State Returning Officer for the election and the Vice Chancellor Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, Prof Faruk Adamu, stated that the two local governments results were not ready.

“The results of the two remaining local governments are not yet ready. I don’t know when it would be ready but let’s reconvene by 5pm,” he said, expressing optimism that the results might be ready by then.
