JUST IN….Emir of Ilorin confirms continuation of Ramadan fasting tomorrow

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has confirmed that fasting should continue tomorrow due to the non-sighting of the new crescent today (Monday) in any part of the world.

In a statement issued by his spokesman,  Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, the Emir stated this shortly after the meeting held by members of the Ilorin Emirate Council and the Council of Ulama at his palace on Monday night.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari had earlier had a telephone conversation with the Sultan of Sokoto,  His Eminence,  Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, in line with the tradition of traditional institution.

The Emir however urged Muslims of Ilorin Emirate and beyond to join other faithful globally in observing fasting on Tuesday while the Eid-el-Fitr celebration will on Wednesday 10th April 2024.

He rejoiced with Muslims in Kwara State and beyond for their commitments throughout the glorious month of Ramadan, urging them to remain steadfast and prayerful for peaceful co-existence nationwide.

Meanwhile, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Dr. Mohammad Bashir Soliu OON, prayed for the Emir and all traditional chiefs across the Ilorin Emirate ensuring growth and development in the ancient city of Ilorin.
