Kwara woos private sector for stronger partnership

The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthen the partnership with private sectors in the State and assured other investors of its support and collaboration.

The State Commisioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, stated this during a meeting with Rabelat Entrepreneurship Centre Animal Husbandry, which took place at the conference room of the Ministry.

The Commissioner pointed out that the State Government’s selfless efforts in supporting Small, Medium and Large Scale Entrepreneurs (SMLSE) through Social Investment Programmes and providing enabling environment for Businesses to strive are laudable achievements in the State.

Hon. Damilola appreciated the centre for its achievement at this critical period when the agricultural sector is facing challenges with Normadic Fulani, advising the centre to be focused and seek the State government’s support for any project, whenever the need arises.

The Commissioner revealed the various laudable capital projects of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration, which have provided job opportunities for youths and women as well as put smiles on the faces of would-be investors who are ready to
tap and harness the potentials of the State.

The projects include: the ongoing Kaiama Sheanut Processing Factory, ongoing International Conference Centre, ongoing Information Technology Centre ( ITC HUB), the Garment Factory and Film Studios which are ready for commissioning, Sugar Factory, among others.

Earlier, the Managing Director, Rabelat Entrepreneurship Centre for Animal Husbandry (RECAH), Dr. Ahmed Raji and his Team thanked the Kwara State Government for creating enabling environment, reinforcing security operations throughout the State and allowing businesses to operate smoothly in Kwara State.

Dr. Raji commended the Management of the Ministry for the support in moving the State forward and highlighted the contents of the centre’s proposal.

He therefore sought for collaboration with the State Government through the Ministries of Business, Innovation and Technology and Agriculture and Rural Development so as to facilitate the centre’s facilities to become a major HUB for sourcing allied produce and cattle in the North Central States of Nigeria, such as the provision of infrastructure – fencing of the inner market road, electrification/solar streets lights, provision of space in the Industrial Park for processing beef for local consumption and exports.

The Managing Director explained further that the centre will help to address the challenges of capacity building that is capable of translating into productivity, which will in turn create employment opportunity for the teeming youths in the State.
