The Lagos State Government has announced partial road closures across several areas ahead of the commissioning of major infrastructure projects on Wednesday and Thursday.

In a statement on Tuesday, Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi said the closures are intended to ensure safety and smooth conduct of the events, urging motorists to plan ahead and avoid affected routes.

On Wednesday, April 8, traffic will be affected along the Opebi-Allen, Ikeja, and Ojota corridors from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during the commissioning of the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge.

On Thursday, April 9, motorists should expect disruptions in Olodi Apapa and Ajegunle between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for the commissioning of the Tolu Schools Complex. Later the same day, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., traffic around Victoria Island and the Eko Hotel will be impacted due to another event.

The government confirmed that traffic officials will be deployed to manage vehicular movement and minimise disruptions. LASTMA has also deployed an additional 500 officers for the events, which will see President Bola Tinubu in attendance.
