The Lagos State Government has sealed the Lighthouse Club on Admiralty Way, Lekki, over persistent violations of noise pollution regulations.
The enforcement was carried out jointly by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) and the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA). According to the Commissioner for Water and Environmental Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the club had received multiple warnings but failed to comply.
Wahab confirmed the closure via his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday, stating that the club would remain shut until it implements proper soundproofing and LASEPA certifies full compliance with approved noise levels.
“Entertainment venues across Lagos must adhere to environmental laws. Residents have the right to a peaceful environment, which outweighs business interests,” Wahab wrote.
In June, LASEPA also shut down several establishments across Lagos Mainland — including lounges, hotels, and a gas plant — for similar infractions related to excessive noise and environmental violations.
