Love on Track: Couple Marries in Motion

Date:

Nollywood actor Shawn Faqua and event planner Sharon Ifunanya Maduekwe have made history as the first couple in Nigeria to wed aboard a moving train, marking a groundbreaking moment in the country’s wedding culture.

The couple exchanged vows on the Lagos–Ibadan train, which was elegantly transformed into a mobile wedding venue. The train’s coaches were beautifully decorated with flowers and featured bridesmaids, groomsmen, and officiating ministers who conducted the ceremony while the train was in motion.

In a celebratory post, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) praised the couple for their creativity and innovation, saying:

“From lovebirds to locomotives, we’re keeping things on track. History made — the first-ever wedding on a moving train in Nigeria. Proof that the journey can be just as beautiful as the destination.”

The unique ceremony quickly went viral on social media, with many Nigerians applauding the couple’s originality and adventurous spirit.

Close family members, friends, and colleagues from the entertainment industry attended the intimate celebration, which has since been hailed as a symbol of love, creativity, and modern Nigerian romance.
