Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has paid tribute to former captain Onome Ebi following her retirement from professional football.
Ebi, 42, confirmed her decision to hang up her boots on Wednesday, bringing an end to a career that spanned more than two decades.
Ajibade described Ebi’s career as inspirational, sharing a message on X that read: “Congratulations on a fantastic career, Ebi Onome. We wish you all the best for the future!”
Veteran defender Osinachi Ohale also joined in celebrating Ebi, who once played for Bayelsa Queens, writing: “Happy retirement my able 5 @onosky5, I pray that this new chapter brings you lots of success and wins.”
Ebi, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most dependable defenders, leaves behind a lasting legacy in women’s football after years of service to both club and country.
