The Yobe State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old suspected kidnapper following the abduction of a two-year-old toddler in Potiskum town.
According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the suspect, Abdullahi Aliyu of Kakuri, Kaduna State, was traced and apprehended in Kaduna after investigations linked him to similar criminal incidents in other states.

The incident occurred on July 31, 2025, when two-year-old Abdulkareem Mohd was kidnapped, and his father, Mohammed Ishayaku, received a ransom demand of N2 million. Prompt police action led to the safe rescue of the child and the arrest of Aliyu.
