Zulum: Northern Nigeria Is Hospitable, Rich in Potentials

Date:

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has described Northern Nigeria as a hospitable region with vast opportunities in agriculture and mineral resources.

Speaking on Wednesday at the Bauchi State Economic and Investment Summit, Zulum highlighted the region’s economic potential and praised Bauchi’s emerging role in driving growth and investment.

“A lot has been said about the North, but I want to assure you that the people of Northern Nigeria in general, and particularly those in Bauchi, are hospitable,” he said.

He noted that beyond agriculture, the North possesses significant mineral resources and recent hydrocarbon discoveries in Bauchi State, which could attract major investors. “I believe investors will have opportunities to explore how we can transform not only Nigeria but Africa in general,” Zulum added.

The governor also commended the Bauchi State government for creating a safe and business-friendly environment, noting that its efforts under the ease of doing business framework had laid a solid foundation for economic growth.

Emphasizing Bauchi’s agricultural strength, Zulum said the state boasts over 4.5 million hectares of arable land and about 47,000 square kilometers of total land area. “Agriculture is the bedrock of many cultures. I want to come to Bauchi and invest in agriculture,” he stated.
