Over 100 Worshippers Abducted in Kajuru, PFN Demands Swift Action

Date:

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has demanded the immediate rescue of over 100 worshippers abducted during a church gathering in Kajuru, Kaduna State. In a statement signed by its National Secretary, Bishop David Bakare, the PFN described the incident as a heinous act that has plunged families, churches, and the wider Christian community into grief, fear, and uncertainty.

The Fellowship expressed particular concern that the attack occurred just as residents were beginning to experience some relief from persistent insecurity in Kaduna, raising fresh fears over the safety of citizens seeking to worship peacefully. PFN strongly condemned the abduction and called on all relevant security agencies to deploy every available resource and intelligence to secure the victims’ immediate and unconditional release.

The statement noted that rescuing the abducted worshippers is the only way to alleviate the anguish caused by initial denials and the confusion that followed the incident. PFN emphasized that the protection of lives and property is a fundamental government responsibility and urged decisive action without delay.

PFN also appealed directly to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene, highlighting that similar presidential interventions in other states had yielded positive outcomes in past cases. The Fellowship assured the victims’ families of prayers, support, and encouragement during this difficult period.

Concluding the statement, PFN prayed for divine protection over the abducted worshippers, strength for their loved ones, and wisdom for security personnel tasked with ensuring their safe return. The organization also called for lasting peace, justice, and security in Kaduna State and across Nigeria.
