The Islamic Missionaries’ Asociation of Nigeria (IMAN) with its National Headquarters in Ilorin, will this weekend confer special awards on Thirty-Five Muslim Personalities and Islamic Bodies in recognition of their contribution to the progress of Islam and humanity at large.
Leading the Awardees are two Royal Highnesses in Kwara State – Oba Muftau Oloyede Gbadamosi, the Oloffa of Offa and His Royal Highnesss the Emir of Lafiagi Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu Haliru as well as the Turaki of Ilorin Mal. Saliu Mustapha.
Others are the 1st Saraunniya Mata of Ilorin Emirate and Oil Magnate Hajia Muinat Bola Shagaya and Senator representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly Senator Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe.
The Awardees will also include an Ourstanding Pharmacist and Philanthropist – Waziri Yakubu Gobir who is also the Madawaki of Ilorin and Gubernatorial Aspirant of YPP, Lawyer Lateef Fagbemi SAN and the Mufti of Ilorin Sheikh Sulaiman Farouq Onikipa Al-Miskin.
Three Eminent Personalities are to be honoured post-humously at the occasion for their special contribution to IMAN. They are the first Muttawali of Ilorin Alh. A.G.F Abdul-Razaq, SAN – Father of the incumbent Governor of Kwara State, Dr. A.S. Oniyangi – Former Secretary to the Kwara State Government & Former National Commissioner of INEC and Professor Musa Ali Aetunmobi – a departed University Don.
A Former Speaker of Kwara State Legislature – Professor Ali Ahmad, the Dan Iya of Ilorin Engineer Sulaiman Kale Kawu and Hajia Maryam Bola Kamarudeen – wife of Chairman/ Chief Executive of KAMWIRE INDUSTRIES will also be decorated at the occasion,
A Press Statement signed by the Chairman of the Special Award Ceremony Committee Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi stated that the Ceremony is scheduled to hold at IMAN CENTRE – Opposite Yidi Praying Ground, Ilorin on Saturday 11th February, 2023.
The statement stated further that His Royal Highness – Mai-Martaba the Emir of Ilorin Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari will attend the occasion as Life-Patron of IMAN while Governor of Kwara State Mal Abdul-Rahman Abdul-Razaq will be present as Special Guest of Honour with Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu – Chairman BUA Group presiding-over at the big occasion scheduled to begin by 10 o’clock coming Saturday.
