Two female passengers were abducted by armed bandits in Bacita community, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State on Monday, . The incident occurred after the commercial vehicle they were traveling in broke down due to a mechanical fault.
The vehicle had been traveling from Niger State to Osun State when it developed the fault at Bacita Junction. It was at this vulnerable moment that the two women were reportedly kidnapped by suspected bandits.
Security sources confirmed the abduction and noted that the attack has raised concerns about road safety and the threat of banditry in the area. Local authorities are coordinating efforts to respond to the incident promptly.
Operatives of the NSCDC Bacita Division have intensified their operations, contacting other security agencies for additional support. Their objective is to track down the perpetrators, rescue the victims, and ensure that the suspects are brought to justice.
Security personnel have also increased surveillance and cordoned off strategic areas within Bacita to prevent further criminal activity. These measures aim to aid the ongoing operation and strengthen safety for residents and travelers in the community.
