Edo Assembly Sack Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu

Date:

The Edo State House of Assembly on Monday impeached the state’s deputy governor, Mr. Philip Shaibu, following the adoption of the report of a seven-member probe panel set up to probe allegations of gross misconduct against him.

The Assembly had accused Shaibu of leaking the state government’s secrets and committing perjury stressing that the alleged offences are impeachable.

Recalled that the Assembly made the allegation last Wednesday stating its case at the inaugural sitting of the seven-man panel set up by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, to probe the deputy governor.
