Governor Dauda Lawal received by the Emir of Kaura-Namoda, Major (Dr) Sanusi Mohammed Ahmed Asha I (rtd).

The Emir of Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State, Major (Dr) Sanusi Mohammed Ahmed Asha I (rtd), on Sunday solicited for the timely approval for the take-off of the Zamfara State College of Legal and Islamic Studies in Kaura Namoda.

He stated this when he received Governor Dauda Lawal, at his palace during a tour of the Emirate. ROYAL NEWS reports that during the visit, the Governor also distributed fertilizer, tillers and other farm inputs to farmers in Kaura Namoda Emirate for irrigation.

The emir who commended the governor for keeping promises and initiatives aimed at developing the state in all ramifications, said his Emirate is in full support of the state Community Protection Guards (CPG) nicknamed ‘AskarawA’, recently inaugurated by the state’s chief security officer to augment the effort of the conventional security operatives, toward restoration of normalcy in the state.

He also thanked Governor Lawal for allocating over N350 million for the total renovation of General Hospital Kaura Namoda and over N200 million for the construction of Women Development Center, in addition to the governor’s decision on total renovation of Kaura Namoda Emir’s Palace, which he promised to commence this year.

On this, the emir said his Emirate was indebted for the kind gestures from the governor.

Emir Sanusi Mohammed noted that there was an ongoing overhauling of Kaura Namoda Dam and provision of an irrigation farm site which, according to him, will in no small measure improve food security of the state and beyond.

The monarch also recognised the effort of the governor in revamping farming activities, saying the state’s slogan is “Zamfara State, farming is our pride” and, therefore, he urged farmers to actively support the government’s initiatives aimed at restoring the lost glory of farming in the state.
