Singer Iyanya has dismissed reports that music executive Ubi Franklin stole a luxury wristwatch during Davido’s wedding in Miami over the weekend.
Rumours of the alleged theft surfaced online on Wednesday after being reported by a blog.
Reacting via his X handle, Iyanya described the claims as false and an attempt to tarnish Franklin’s image by individuals within Davido’s circle who do not like him.
“This is a big lie. The jeweler has come out to deny this. It was a gist fabricated to tarnish Ubi’s name by those who don’t like him in that circle. I will not let my brother be dragged for nothing,” he wrote.
Franklin also denied the allegation in a separate statement on X, calling it “false and misleading.” He noted that the luxury watch dealer, identified as Benny, had earlier in the day publicly debunked the claim.
