Kolo Jiyah to speak on issues ahead of 2027 guber poll in Kwara

The Haske of Etsu Patigi in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, Dr Baba Kolo Jiyah, is to speak at the 41st Media Parliament of the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) holding in Ilorin, the state capital.

The media parliament themed “Religion, Politics and Kwara 2027 Gubernatorial Race”, will hold on Friday 9th February, 2023 at NUJ Press Centre, Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin at 10am.

A statement issued in Ilorin by the Chairman and Secretary of Kwara NUJ Media Parliament Committee, Fatimah Rasheed and Babajide Fadeyi respectively said the theme of the event was conceived to examine the place of religion, politics and other factors that would likely shape and tailor the direction of Kwara 2027 gubernatorial race.

The statement noted that the forum would afford Haske of Etsu Patigi, who is a political leader and business tycoon, to dig deep on how political leaning, religion and ethnic inclination among others had affected Kwara gubernatorial contest in the past.

The statement added that the media parliament would avail the Guest Speaker a moment to interact with leading lights in journalism profession so as to inform, and prepare the citizenry on issues that would midwife the state politics in 2027.

Meanwhile, NUJ members across the chapels have been urged to prepare adequately for the event and attend promptly.
