Kwara Gov Gifts Cup Heroes N5m Each After Historic Win

Date:

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved a N5 million cash reward for each player and technical staff member of Kwara United Football Club following their historic victory in the 2025 President Federation Cup.

The Ilorin-based team, popularly known as the Harmony Boys, clinched the title in June after a tense 4-3 penalty shootout win over Abakaliki FC — their first-ever triumph in Nigeria’s oldest football tournament.

As part of their victory, Kwara United will represent Nigeria in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.

Governor Abdulrazaq’s reward is seen as a major morale booster for the club ahead of their continental campaign and the new domestic season.

The preliminary draw for the CAF Confederation Cup is expected later this month.
