Kwara relaxes July sanitation for common entrance examThe Kwara State Government has announced a relaxation of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for July to enable primary school pupils to participate in the Common Entrance Placement Examination scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by Shakirat Muritala, Press Secretary to the Ministry of Environment. The statement quoted the Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, as saying the decision reflects the government’s responsiveness to the needs of citizens.

The monthly sanitation, usually observed on the last Saturday of every month with restricted movement, has been lifted to allow free vehicular and pedestrian access to examination centers across the state. The move is intended to ensure that candidates face no barriers in reaching their venues for the crucial transition exam into junior secondary schools.

While wishing the candidates success, the commissioner urged them to remain diligent and aspire to contribute to the state’s vision of a cleaner, healthier environment.

Hajia Buge also called on residents not to neglect their sanitation responsibilities despite the relaxation. She advised the public to clean their surroundings, avoid indiscriminate waste disposal, clear blocked drainage channels, and engage in eco-friendly practices—such as tree planting—while the rainy season lasts.

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to promoting a sustainable environment under the Cleaner Kwara Initiative.
