Kwara Solid Minerals Commissioner Pays Unschedule Visit To Minning Site

In a bid to access the on going Mining activities in Kakafu, Lade community, the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Hon Abdulquawiy Olododo has embarked on an unscheduled visit, for an on the spot assessment of Kakafu mining site located at Lade District of Patigi Local Government Area, with a view to advising Government on its economic values, to the state.

The Commissioner who embarked on this all important visit, during the week, noted that Kakafu has been on the International Map as a result of its uniqueness, being a town richly blessed and endowed with abundance of lithium, adding that, “the immense deposit of the Natural Resources and mining activities going on in the area, prompted me to pay this visit, so as to get a first hand information of the site, for further necessary action that will be of benefit, to the state.

In company of the Commissioner is the Commandant of Kwara Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Umar Mohammed disclosed that the Command’s mandate is to ensure the security of life and property of the people, as well as familiarise the command with the happenings in Kakafu District of the mining site.

The Commandant pledged the Corps readiness to support the Ministry whenever the need arises.

In his response, the Daudu of Lade District, Alhaji Haruna Abubakar welcomed the visiting team to Lade community and called for Government’s support at all times.

The Commissioner was accompanied by Permanent Secretary of the ministry…… Commandant, Police Officers and principal officers.
