KWSG OPERATES OPEN DOOR POLICY TO ENHANCE PRODUCTIVITY—Buraimoh

The Kwara State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Abosede Olaitan Buraimoh has reiterated the present administration’s readiness to operate an open door policy and willingness to offer necessary support to all Associations whenever the need arises for improved productivity in the State.

Hon. Buraimoh stated this while receiving the members of the five groups, who jointly paid a familiarisation visit to her office this week.

The Commissioner acknowledged the contributions of the De Pals Foundation; Al-Hikman University’s EU- Aid Project on Promoting Digital Solutions for Local Farmers; Hadis Habiba Dangana Foundation; Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARTH) and Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), to the development of the State.

She reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for all organisations in order to make life meaningful for the citizenry.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Musa Olanrewaju Okanlawon, implored the organisations not to renege in their efforts to contribute their quota to the socio-economic development of the State, assuring them of the Ministry’s support at all times in order to take the State to greater heights.

In their separate views, the Team Leader, De Pals Foundation, Hajia Asmau Bimpe Yusuf, declared that the team “has a dedicated goal of effectively rendering care giving services to over 50,000 aged people, building strong and close friendship and strengthening relationships with the elderlies of our time.”

“We have developed series of programmes aimed at preventing loneliness in seniors. Memory care facilities like games and multisensory experience, tailored to help dementia, are all available at De Pals Care Foundation”, she stated.

Speaking further, the Project Manager, Al-Hikman University, Mr. Tajudeen Ajala, who claimed that the project is meant to promote Digital Solutions for Local Farmers, remarked that the aim of the project was to enhance the technical and management capacities of various stakeholders, including government institutions, local authorities, civil society organizations, among others, to support the implementation of digital solutions for agriculture and rural development in remote areas of Nigeria.

Also speaking, the Team Leader, Hadis Foundation, Mrs. Habiba Dangana, highlighted the work of the Foundation in the State, which include: “set-up of the first functional Sexual Assault Referral Centre aptly called the Ajike Care Centre located at the General Hospital, llorin, to cater for survivors of Sexual and Gender -Based Violence (SGBV)”.

The Programme Coordinator, Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH), Mrs. Onurah Ada, also expatiated that the visit was to collaborate with the Ministry.

Also, the Team Leader, Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), Reimi De Laage, restated the Team’s commitment to assist the women in Agriculture across the 16 Local Government Areas of the State.

“RAAMP also support women through empowerment, training. of women in catering, adire, distributing palliatives through cash and materials, among others”, she remarked.

Present at the meeting were the Director, Personel, Finance and Supply, Mrs. Maryam Ishola; Director, Child Development, Mrs. Maryam Yusuf and Director, Women Development, Mrs. Medinat Idris.
