N35bn Bond: A lifeline for Kwara Infrastructure deficit– APC New Generation Forum

Date:

•Applauds Governor for clearing loans from previous administration
•Commends his courage for the live saving Bond.
•Appreciates Kwara House of Assembly for swift response to Governor’s request.

The Kwara APC New Generation Forum, a political mobilization movement under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has lauded Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State for initiating a good deal in securing a single-digit interest bond to facilitate rapid infrastructural development for the state.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the forum’s Chairman, Comrade Ben Duntoye; Secretary, Mallam Ndanusa Usman Shehu and the Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Moshood Alaka, noting that the N35bn bond is a wise decision that will fast-track developmental process and meet basic needs and yearnings of the citizens of the state.

While acknowledging Governor Abdulrazaq’s effort in clearing loans from previous administrations, it is obvious that the progressive Government of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak is desirous of lifting the living standards of an average Kwaran.

The forum assured Kwarans of the Governor’s financial prudence, zero tolerance to corruption and wastage, emphasizing that Kwarans will soon begin to smile when the impact of the good works of the AbdulRazaq Administration is felt in all spheres of governance by every citizen and every community.

The group recalled that the State Executive Council had earlier in 2020 in a council resolution approved that the state should source funding for its infrastructure development through the floating of a bond, as no government can run effectively without borrowing so as to save and reposition Kwara in the forefront socially and economically.

The Kwara APC New Generation Forum thereby condemn statements by detractors meant to discredit Governor Abdulrazaq’s effort, resonating hope that the bond will not take too long to clear, with high expectation of repayment even before the due date.

“Furthermore, it is worthy to note that the bond will finance some of the critical projects that concerns the socio-economic welfare and wellbeing of Kwarans that require urgent attention.”

The forum also appreciated the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi and the House of Assembly for treating the Governor’s request with the urgency it required. This shows that the Executive and the Legislative arms of Government are partners in progress, stressing that it is not until the Legislatures engage in combat with the Executive that shows they are working.

“Therefore we call on all well meaning Kwarans to give our performing Governor the desired support to move the State forward while advising those who have deliberately decided to constitute themselves as detractors to have a change of heart and join hands with the Governor,” the group said.
