Technologist canvasses eradication of discrimination between HNDs  Degrees in Engineering

An expert in Engineering   Mr Olushola Alabi had decried the discrimination among holders of HND and Degree holders in Engineering profession

Alaba who was speaking with journalists in llorin on Friday said the discrimination is adversely affecting more technological advancement in the country.

According to Alabi, Decree 55 of 1970 that delimits the resourcefulness of engineering technologist for HND holders became worst enemy of the country’s industrial and technological revolution

The Engineering expert canvassed for the eradication of the law to allow engineering profession attain more development in the country.

Alabi described technology as a tool for developmental change stating that the fortune of technologists and technicians as engine oil of industrialization had been robbed

This he attributed to country   the siege placed on HND holders and professional technologists in the country.

 He blamed the problem on the refusal by some state Governments to bridge the gap between the HND and Degree holders

Alabi stressed the need to end the monopoly of leadership role and consultancy services being enjoyed by COREN members, urging the stakeholders to save the engineering profession .
